Filmmaking is about the story, the emotion, and the essence of the imagery.
Whether it’s America’s wild horses, girls’ in Tanzania, men overcoming hatred, or brave women forming an army — they all have stories to tell, and I am driven to share theirs.

Wild Beauty
MUSTANG SPIRIT OF THE WEST
2022
Get swept into the world of the wild ones. Through this cinematically stunning, immersive experience, you’ll find yourself among galloping mustangs on the open range. Witness how they’re wrongfully captured and sent to slaughter so public lands can serve livestock and energy industries.
Refuge
2022
REFUGE is a story about fear and love in the American South. A leader in a white nationalist hate group finds healing from the people he once hated – a Muslim heart doctor and his town of refugees. Chris is a husband and father, a veteran, and until recently, a leader in the KKK. He started hating Muslims when the planes hit the Twin Towers on 9/11, but is forced to confront his hate when he receives a text from Muslim refugee, Heval. REFUGE illustrates the false promises of hate and reveals where real and lasting refuge is found. Where there is love, there is refuge.

THE SUN LADIES OF YAZIDI
2018
The Sun Ladies is a 7-minute VR documentary that mixes live action footage and virtual reality animation. It’s about the Yazidi women who were targeted when ISIS invaded Iraq in 2014. The men were killed and the women were kidnapped as sex slaves. The Sun Ladies is a group of survivor Yazidi women who escaped from sex slavery and, instead of waiting in refugee camps for the war to end, they formed an all-female unit in the Kurdistan Army to fight ISIS.

About Me

A fifth-generation Texan raised in Austin, I discovered filmmaking as a powerful tool for telling stories of bravery and courage and stories that, I hope, continue to protect and inspire.
My journey into documentary filmmaking began in 2016. Drawn to narratives of resilience, I love when breathtaking cinematography meets the personal reality of people and animals overcoming immense odds. Over the years I have had the incredible fortune of collaborating with visionary directors and screenplay writers producing full-length feature documentary films.
Today I am the founder of OleRose, LLC, a creative holding company that partners with artists and filmmakers to bring meaningful stories to life. I also write about history, language, and storytelling on my Substack. I am passionate about engaging with the creative community and actively participate in film festival panels, where I enjoy judging films, sponsoring festivals, and building upon the intersection of storytelling and advocacy.
